City apps: which ones have made our lives easier?

A plethora of apps that can make our lives easier-especially in cities-have been developed.

Some of them have been a remarkable turning point in our living. Here is our selection of the latest apps for everyday use, do you know them?

Apps for daily chores and getting around town

Many of the apps we will mention have also proved invaluable with respect to the pandemic period we experienced.

They have made it easier not only to run errands but also to get around in particularly dynamic settings, such as city settings.

Qurami

Rather difficult, when talking about queues, not to think of the Lockdown period, with lines of people everywhere you went.

Fortunately, the Quromi app easily solved this problem. Available on Iphone and Adroid, this app allows you to book your shift directly from your smartphone, showing up -at the hospital or a town hall- only when it’s time.

Vicker

Revolutionary app devised by two startauppers Matteo Cracco and Luca Menti at a time of deep disappointment. Both were aiming for a career in show business, but then were forced to fall back on other paths.

The app they made allows for the matching of labor supply and demand, with reference to casual benefits.

Looking for someone who, for a fee, will offer to mow your yard, run your errands or walk your dog? Just log on to the app and evaluate the various candidates. Vicker is an app recognized by the Department of Labor.

Moovit

Very useful app for getting around the city. It allows one to monitor the progress of whatever vehicle one is riding on: bus, train, bicycle, or cab. Recommended for anyone who happens to be waiting for the bus unnecessarily.

Payment app

Whether it is Satipay, Apple pay, or the Post Office app, it must be acknowledged that these tools have enabled us to make our payments so much easier.

Especially in this pandemic period, the option of using one’s smartphone as if it were a pos has certainly proven to be the safest.

There are many apps for getting around the city. These have definitely made our lives easier. Pictured is a woman moving around the city, using a smartphone.

Waze

Also indispensable for getting around the city is the Waze app, which allows you to arrive earlier when you are driving. This is by monitoring traffic instantly and choosing the smoothest route to save time.

Waze is not so much for orientation-that’s why we already have Google maps-as it is for figuring out how, during rush hour, we can navigate a route so that we don’t get bottlenecked.

Apps and platforms for finding parking

We have seen a list of the main apps that could make our city life easier. Another worry-which inspires quite a few expletives in city contexts-is finding parking and renting a parking space.

For these problems, another very useful tool is web platforms.

Buyparking: the platform of Oltrematica

We at Oltrematica have developed Buyparking: a platform capable of easily lifting you out of this quagmire.

Designed for companies, municipalities and private parking providers, but also for ordinary citizens who want to reserve a parking space using only an Internet connection.
